SpiderManda is a family-run animal education and creature care brand rooted in curiosity, respect, and connection with the natural world, especially the animals that are often misunderstood.
 

What began as a lifelong love of reptiles and arachnids has grown into a small ecosystem of related projects, all guided by the same core belief: animals are not props or novelties, but living beings that invite us to slow down, learn, and see the world differently.
 

At the heart of SpiderManda is hands-on experience. With over 30 years of keeping and breeding reptiles and invertebrates — including tarantulas, jumping spiders, snakes, lizards, and amphibians — SpiderManda brings deep practical knowledge together with a calm, thoughtful approach to animal care and education.
 

Our Projects

 

My Pet Spider

My Pet Spider is the invertebrate side of the SpiderManda brand, created with one simple goal: to make spiders and other invertebrates as normal, approachable, and loved as hamsters or goldfish.

We specialize in the ethical breeding and care of tarantulas, jumping spiders, scorpions, and other fascinating “creepy crawlies,” and focus on placing them in thoughtful, well-prepared homes. These animals are often quiet, low-maintenance, and surprisingly gentle — making them excellent pets for families, classrooms, and first-time keepers.

At its heart, My Pet Spider exists to shift perception. Through education, calm handling, and responsible care, we help people move past fear and discover that invertebrates can be engaging, easy-care companions that fit naturally into everyday family life.

SpiderManda Animal Adventures
SpiderManda Animal Adventures brings live animals to children’s parties, schools, libraries, and community events. These programs are designed to be fun, calm, and age-appropriate — helping kids replace fear with curiosity and excitement. Every presentation emphasizes safety, gentle interaction, and respect for animals as living beings, not entertainment objects.

Wild Soul Reptiles

Wild Soul Reptiles is the reptile-focused arm of the SpiderManda ecosystem, dedicated to ethical breeding, thoughtful husbandry, and respectful relationships with reptiles. This branch exists to show that reptile keeping can be calm, mindful, and deeply connected to the natural world.

We focus on responsible breeding practices, species-appropriate care, and long-term animal welfare — prioritizing health, temperament, and quality of life over volume or trends. Our approach emphasizes observation, patience, and understanding reptiles on their own terms, rather than forcing interaction or treating them as display objects.

Wild Soul Reptiles also supports keepers at every stage with education around proper setup, enrichment, and care, helping people build confident, sustainable relationships with their animals. At its core, this work is about slowing down, tuning in, and learning to live alongside reptiles with respect and intention.

Wild Soul Collective

If the SpiderManda enterprise was an ecosystem, then Wild Soul Collective would be the soil out of which it grows.  Here, mindful living and nature-connection come together to support a slower, more intentional way of living alongside animals, nature, and ourselves. The ethos of Wild Soul Collective guides everything else we do.​

Wild Soul Collective is home to our mindfulness- and rewilding-inspired practices, including yoga and movement offerings rooted in nervous-system awareness and connection to the natural world. Through programs like The Yoga Dog Project, we explore how mindfulness, gentle training, and time outdoors can deepen the bond between humans and their animals, while supporting regulation, presence, and well-being for both.

At its core, Wild Soul Collective exists for the pieces that don’t fit neatly into boxes - the spaces where animals, environments, and inner lives intersect. It is about creating experiences and spaces that invite stillness, curiosity, and harmony, and about remembering that living well with animals begins with learning how to live well ourselves.
